Compatible Hardware
The following hardware has been tested and verified interoperable
with the Fujitsu 2.5" 10K RPM SAS MAY Series hard drives.
SAS Enclosures
- AIC (BR-SAS28
8-Bay) - The AIC BR-SAS28 is an enterprise-class
Hard Drive Canister designed for mission-critical storage
applications. It converts two (2) 5.25-inch bays to eight
(8) 2.5-inch SFF SAS/SATA drive bays, holding up to 1TB
of storage capacity under high spindle and data read/write
speeds. It has a 12-PHY SAS expander with 4 lanes of bandwidth
supporting up to 1.2GB/s of throughput (Dual expander option
is also available). With its self-contained SAS expander(s),
SAS backplane, and cooling fans, users can take advantage
of the robust performance of SFF SAS hard disk drives without
buying a brand new server.
- Enhance (Q14SS
4-Bay) - As storage trends evolve and users
look towards emerging connectivity options such as SAS and
SATA II, Enhance Technology has again raised the bar with
the release of QuadraPack™ Q14. Following in the success
of the 3.5” product line, the QuadraPack™ Q14
is the industry's first removable storage enclosure designed
to house four (4) 2.5” hard drives and is to be mounted
in a single 5.25” drive bay which typically is what's
left within a PC, Server, or rackmount for device expansion.
- JMR Storage Systems (SAS-Stor
8-Bay) - SAS-Stor supports eight 2.5"
SAS/SATA disk drives in a single 5.25" full height
enclosure thus multiplying the number of spindles typically
used in the space by a factor of eight. Each drive has its
own dedicated channel to the SAS/SATA host. This effectively
eliminates the bottlenecks found in a typical shared bus
enclosure.

4-2 4-Bay) - MiniSTOR 4-2 is a 5.25" SAS
JBOD Enclsoure supports up to 4 hot swappable 2.5"
SAS drives with embedded SAS Edge Expander. Featuring 4
SATA connectors with cascading capability.
- Rancho (MiniStor
4-1-1U 8-Bay JBOD) - This 1U MiniStor4-1-1U
SAS JBOD enclosure is an extremely cost effective and highly
scalable storage system for 2.5” SAS drives technology.
This enclosure accepts two of Rancho’s MiniStor 4-1
enclosures. Each MiniStor accepts up to four 2.5” SAS
drives, for a total of eight SAS drives.

8-Bay) - The Supermicro M28E1/M28E2 Mobile
Rack, supporting up to two SAS x12 Expanders, packaged in
pocket size (5.5" W x 2.5" H) and running at 3
Gbps, showcases today's most advanced technology innovations
in modular connectivity and data transferability, laying
the foundation for reliable, effective and scalable solutions
for tomorrow's data communications industry.

- The Adaptec Serial Attached SCSI 48300 card is an eight-port
controller featuring Adaptec HostRAID™- an integrated
RAID technology that maximizes system performance and uptime.
The Adaptec 48300 supports up to eight direct attached drives
and up to 128 drives using expander technology. The card
offers RAID levels 0, 1, and 10 as well as 48-bit LBA support
for the use of disk drives exceeding 137GB in capacity.
The Adaptec 48300 supports Windows® 2000, Windows Server
2003, Windows XP and Linux.

8-port) - The Adaptec Serial Attached SCSI RAID
4800SAS PCI-X card is an eight-port controller that supports
SAS, SATA or SATA II disk drives. It features the Adaptec
RAID Code (ARC) with standard RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50, JBOD
as well as the Adaptec Advanced Data Protection Suite with
RAID 1E, 5EE, 6, 60, Copyback Hot Spare and optional Snapshot
Backup. The card has 128 MB of ECC-protected DDR DRAM and
a battery unit is optional.

4805SAS PCI Express card is an eight-port controller that
supports SAS, SATA or SATA II disk drives. It features the

offers user selectable port options that include 4 external
and 4 internal ports, or 8 internal ports.

R380) - The ATTO ExpressSAS R380 low profile
RAID Adapter provides SAS/SATA II connectivity and delivers
blazing fast performance with transfer rates of up to 3-Gb
per second per port. Featuring integrated RAID support,
8 external ports and latest bus technology, PCI Express.
ExpressSAS R380 is engineered for the most demanding digital
media and IT server applications.

(SAS3442X)
- The SAS3442X, PCI-X, 8-port 3Gb/s Serial Attached SCSI
(SAS) HBA has 4 internal and 4 external ports and can be
connected directly to 8 SAS and/or SATA hard disk drives
or as many as 122 when used in systems employing SAS expanders.
Each port delivers up to 300 MB/s bandwidth (600 MB/s full
duplex) for a combined throughput of as much as 2.4 GB/s
(4.8 GB/s full duplex) bringing unparalleled performance
to workstations and servers.
- LSI
(SAS3080X)
- The LSI SAS3080X-R card provides the greatest available
throughput to internal server storage arrays through eight
internal 3 Gb/s ports, driving up to 122 SAS and SATA devices.
The host bus adapter supports multiple configurations of
SAS and SATA devices running RAID 0, 1, 1E or 10E by connecting
a 64-bit PCI-X 133 MHz bus with two internal x4 SFF-8484
SAS connectors. The SAS3080X-R demonstrates a significant
advantage over parallel SCSI in providing 2400 MB/s external
data throughput and cost optimization of SAS and SATA drives.
