SATA Compatible Hardware

The following hardware has been tested and verified interoperable with the Fujitsu 2.5" 5400 RPM SATA MHV Series hard drives.

Enclosures

• CRU (Dataport 25 2-Bay) - DataPort™ 25 Small Form Factor Removable Drive Enclosure: Fits in any standard 3.5" (floppy drive) bay; Houses one or two 2.5" drives and makes them removable; Heavy-duty stainless steel construction; Universal frame supports IDE/ATA-6 and Serial ATA; Dual drive features support RAID-1 mirroring or RAID-0 striping.
• Enhance Technology (Q14 4-Bay) - As storage trends evolve and users look towards emerging connectivity options such as SAS and SATA II, Enhance Technology has again raised the bar with the release of QuadraPack™ Q14. Following in the success of the 3.5” product line, the QuadraPack™ Q14 is the industry's first removable storage enclosure designed to house four (4) 2.5” hard drives and is to be mounted in a single 5.25” drive bay which typically is what's left within a PC, Server, or rackmount for device expansion.
• JMR Storage Systems (SATAStor 6-Bay) - Incorporating the next generation storage technology, JMR Electronics has developed the SATAStor storage system. It is a completely new approach to storage. SATAStor is an extremely small, cost effective and highly scalable storage system using Serial ATA (SATA), small form-factor high capacity disk drives.
• Rancho (MiniSTOR 2 6-Bay) - MiniSTOR 2 is an extremely small, cost effective and highly scalable storage system using the SATA 1.5 GBit/s interface.

HBAs/Controller Cards

• Adaptec (1205SA 2-port) - The Adaptec Serial ATA Host Controller 1205SA offers improved system reliability by adding 32-bit CRC error checking for all bits transmitted (command, data, and status). Parallel ATA provides CRC only for data packets. Serial ATA also features built-in support for first-party DMA to eliminate bottlenecks associated with on-board DMA controllers. It also minimizes electronic noise that can lead to data transmission errors.
• Adaptec (1210SA 2-port) - The Adaptec 1210SA supports up to two Serial ATA drives and offers RAID levels 0, 1, and JBOD. The controller supports bootable arrays, provides background initialization and features 48-bit LBA that allows for the use of drive sizes exceeding 137 GByte. The Adaptec 1210SA supports Windows XP, Windows 2000, RedHat, and SuSE Linux and is managed by Adaptec Storage Manager™ - Browser Edition.
• Adaptec (1420SA SATA II RAID 4-port) - The Adaptec Serial ATA II RAID 1420SA card is a four-port controller featuring Adaptec HostRAID™ - an integrated RAID technology that maximizes system performance and uptime. The Adaptec 1420SA supports up to four 3Gb/s Serial ATA drives, Native Command Queuing, and offers RAID levels 0, 1, 10, and JBOD (individual drive). The Adaptec 48-bit logical block addressing (LBA) support enables use of disk drives exceeding 137 GB in capacity. The Adaptec 1420SA supports Windows® 2000, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, RedHat Linux, SuSE Linux, and NetWare.
• Adaptec (2410SA RAID 4-port) - The Adaptec 2410SA supports SATA 2 features including enclosure management and backplanes. Adaptec Storage Manager™ - provides centralized management for Adaptec host-based RAID controllers. The Adaptec 2410SA supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10, and JBOD configurations and features 64 MB of fixed ECC SDRAM cache memory.
• Adaptec (2420SA RAID 4-port) - The Adaptec Serial ATA II RAID 2420SA card is a four-port controller that supports SATA or SATA II direct attached disk drives. It features the Adaptec AIC-8210 SATA RAID-on-Chip (ROC) ASIC and Adaptec RAID Code (ARC) with standard RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 as well as the Adaptec Advanced Data Protection Suite with RAID 1E, 5EE, 6, Copyback Hot Spare and optional Snapshot Backup.
